StarterTab · Features

Search, shortcuts and useful tools. One start page.

StarterTab brings daily starting points together while keeping the search bar central. It links you to the services you choose and provides lightweight tools that work in the browser.

Updated

Web search and AI, side by side

Switch between Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other enabled engines without opening a settings page each time. GitHub and Wikipedia are available for more specific searches. Search preferences let you select what appears and add your own engine.

StarterTab is a starting point for those services, not a combined AI answer engine. Results open with the selected provider. Gemini uses a copy-and-paste prompt flow, and each provider controls its account requirements and responses.

Translation with a clear destination

Open Translate, choose languages and enter text. StarterTab requests a translation when you press Translate, then lets you copy the result. If the request fails, Open in Google Translate provides a direct way to continue.

Translate starts with the current search text. If you edit the source in the translation panel, it keeps your text. Choose “Use current search text” to replace it. Typing does not send a translation request.

A Dock and a searchable website directory

Keep frequent destinations in the bottom Dock, with grouped Social, Google and Shopping folders. Launchpad shows individual websites and supports category filtering and search, including AI tools.

Add your own sites and categories, pin existing directory entries and reorder shortcuts. Local communities vary by country, such as Pantip for Thailand and Zalo Web for Vietnam. StarterTab opens these services; it does not combine or read their feeds.

Shopping that follows your country

The Shopping folder includes local stores, product search and detailed categories. Browse beauty, electronics, clothing, home, groceries and other departments, then open a category search on the relevant Lazada storefront.

LazMall and other regional stores have their own links. Singapore includes RedMart and FairPrice, while the store list changes with the chosen country. StarterTab does not process payments, place orders or compare live inventory; the retailer handles those steps.

Small tools without another application

  • Open World clock in the clock widget to compare 18 cities. The dialog opens on Southeast Asia. Switch to the US and Europe or Asia and Oceania to see local dates, times and UTC offsets.
  • Focus: Pomodoro, short-break and long-break sessions on the start page.
  • Calculator: basic arithmetic or scientific functions, with degree/radian modes.
  • Convert: convert values between supported unit types.
  • Markdown: open a file or paste text to read the formatted preview. Notes: keep a quick note in this browser.
  • QR code: turn text or a URL into a locally generated, downloadable PNG.
  • Dates: calculate intervals or dates using the date tool.

Only Clock and Focus stay on the desktop. Other tools open in dialogs, so they do not fill the page when you are searching.

Wallpapers, dark mode and local preferences

Choose from 24 bundled wallpapers, filter by style or use a photo of your own. Follow system appearance, or choose a light or dark interface. Mobile wallpaper versions keep the background suitable for a narrow screen.

StarterTab needs no account for these features. Personal preferences and drafts belong to the current browser; read the local-data guide before relying on them as a permanent backup.
